I met some fascinating people tonight.
Rebecca "of Montrose & Leonard" (at Lakeside Lounge); Eva (on the L train), a video editor who lives in Greenpoint (she talked about just having seen the film "The Butterfly and the Diving Bell"); and then another Rebecca (related somehow to the ill-fated male lead of Antonioni's Zabriskie Point!) and her NYC friends at the Ale House.
I had to create a profile for a wiki at work so I had a little fun with it:

Interests: I like to watch the grass grow, like to massage my elbow, like to troll the wikipedia so the kids get the facts right; I'm second cousin to a Tennessee mule, so I'm interested in the origins of the golden rule; The manner and accoutrements of the diplomat and the proper feeding of a Siamese cat; I don't like classes but I like to go to school; I'm not very good but I still like to play pool; I read old legal textbooks that are out of date; And prosecute the law at a low cut rate; I like soup when I want it and luck when I don't; I say Wally when I will and Willis when I won't
Favorite movies: "The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum at Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade" (Glenda Jackson makes a hot Charlotte Corday)
Favorite TV shows: any show with pretty people doing nasty things; McLaughlin Report; show where they catch the fish, they cook the fish, they eat the fish and then they talk about the fish (I can't remember what it is called)
My hero(es) have always been cowboys, illegal immigrants and towel boys; And I admire the formal inventiveness, visual poetry and political contrariness of Mr. Jean-Luc Godard; and how 'bout that Bill Maher--returning to HBO on August 29th at 11pm EST!
If I could live anywhere, it would be: The part of New York City that is within walking distance to Vegas
My superpower is I combine the best qualities of Jesus and a jackrabbit. I mean think about it. Who wouldn't want to be the Jesus of jackrabbits?
